Privacy and Confidentiality

Privacy is essential in any kind of counselling. It is especially important in a small town. As we provide counselling in a small town, we are extremely aware of the need to ensure privacy is maintained.

All people associated with Clearwater Centre take this responsibility seriously. In fact, except when we are legally or ethically obliged to disclose information, which is detailed here, you can be assured that your information is as secure as possible. This means that information will not be shared, even with your spouse, family, doctor, etc. without your permission. Files are kept secure and counsellors are bound by a Code of Conduct. We are unlikely to acknowledge clients in public, to ensure privacy.

Many people are concerned about maintaining their privacy in a counselling session. Please be aware that we only seek relevant information, that is, information that may be helpful in supporting clients with their issues. If asked about something they don’t want to discuss, clients are welcome to say so and this will be respected.

If you have any questions about privacy and confidentiality, please contact us at info@clearwatercentre.com.au.
